The drum is covered with a mesh or perforated plate, which allows smaller particles to pass through while retaining larger particles.The material to be sieved is fed into the drum at the higher end, and as it rotates, the smaller particles pass through the mesh or perforated plate and are discharged at the lower end. The larger particles are retained inside the drum and discharged separately.
